New allegations against Dallas Police Officer
Robert Powell have been brought to the media's attention and things aren't looking good for this power tripping cop.
Last week news broke that a Dallas Police Officer on a major power trip kept NFL running back, Ryan Moats, from his dying mother-in-law's bedside because Moats had ran a red light and now another NFL player has come forward with his story about Officer Powell. Allegedly Officer Powell pulled over Maritza Thomas, wife of former Cowboys linebacker Zach Thomas, for an illegal U-turn and arrested her. Thomas remained in jail for 3 hours, a situation that "never should have happened," said Thomas' lawyer, Brody Shanklin.
The Thomas family in no way is trying to make the Dallas police force look bad but stated,
This in no way compares to what happened to Ryan Moats and his family. But we wanted to tell our story, not knowing how many others have been affected by Officer Powell. We know the vast majority of the Dallas police force are good and professional people, but this guy just seems excessive.
It will be interesting to see how many people come forward with more stories about Officer Powell because I doubt these are the only two cases. What do you think?
