General Motors Corp. has revealed it's latest green car, the
Chevy Volt.

The
Chevy Volt should get 230 mpg in the city, which is four times more than the Toyota Prius. The Volt has an electric motor and a battery pack that can power the car for 40 miles. The best part about the battery pack is that it can be recharged from a standard home outlet. Once the battery and electric motor run out of energy the car will be powered by a small combustion engine that will generate electricity for 300 miles.

The highway mileage estimates have not been released yet. Fritz Henderson, GM CEO says, "We are confident the highway (mileage) will be a triple-digit composite."

Now that's going green. In theory If you drive less than 40 miles a day, you'll never use gasoline with the Chevy Volt.
