Dennis Hopper has been diagnosed with prostate cancer. Hopper was set to travel to Australia to make an appearence at an exhibition of his artwork and photography at the Australian Centre for the Moving Image in Melbourne. The show is called "Dennis Hopper and the New Hollywood," the show celebrates "the work and life of an extraordinary filmmaker, artist and key figure in the evolution of Americas cultural scene from the 1950s to today." Dennis has put everything on hold to focus on his treatment.
Dennis Hopper's manager, Sam Maydew said that Hopper is being treated at University of Southern California and said "We're hoping for the best" when asked about the actors prognosis. He would not elaborate on the actor's condition. Dennis was hospitalized earlier this month for dehydration, but has other wise had a perfect bill of health.
The Easy Rider star has several projects lined up and has just finished shooting the second season of Crash, a cable show for the Starz network. The 73 year old veteran actor/artist has also been in commercials for Ameriprise hocking retirement services to the baby boomers.
So sad! Our thoughts are with you Mr. Hopper
