It's no secret that Californian's are suffering financially due to the current economy, but not having money doesn't have to mean not having fun. Here are a few fun and free things you can do in LA.
Aquarium of the Pacific

Every Friday night from 6pm to 9pm the public is invited to get up close with sharks and sting rays at the
FREE Shark Lagoon Nights. You get to touch bamboo sharks, sandtigers and rays at the Aquarium's Shark Lagoon.
Drinks and snacks are available for purchase.
LaBrea Tar Pits Page Museum
The first Tuesday of every month entry into the LaBrea Tar Pits Page Museum is
FREE!

At the museum you will get the opportunity to see the world's largest and most diverse assemblage of extinct Ice Age plants and animals. You can even watch the bones being cleaned and repaired through the windows of the Page Museum Laboratory.
Mentryville

Mentryville is a historic 1880's oil boom town that was built around oil well, Pico No. 4. Named after the oil well's tenacious driller, Alexander Mentry, Mentryville offers shaded trails for hikers, bikers and equestrians and a glimpse of California history.

The Natural History Museum of Los Angeles is the protector of over 35 million specimens that date back over 4.5 million years. It has many different exhibits which include African Mammals, Ancient Latin American Art, Birds, Dinosouars, Gems and Minerals and much more.
