Hollywire: Why did you decide to name your new EP LEAVE THE GAMBLING FOR VEGAS?
A SMILE FROM THE TRENCHES: The whole album is pretty much about killing ex girlfriends.... and I wrote a song that had some gambling lines in it so I decided to call it "Leave the Gambling for Vegas"... It means if you are in a relationship to take it seriously and don't screw around... cause bad things can happen and love is a serious emotion that pulls the craziest strings of the heart... Now I'm rambling; pretty much don't gamble or bluff in a relationship cause it wont end up going well... leave it fro Vegas and only risk losing money.
HW: What is the music scene in LA like in your opinion?
ASFTT: If I am gonna be honest I think the kids and people should go to shows for the music like they use to do. Now they go and worry about their hair and how cool they look... I'm really hoping that the day will come soon when I get off stage and the kids are just as sweaty as I am cause they were running around just as much as me.
HW: Why did you do the cover of Katy Perry's HOT N COLD?
ASFTT: It was a good pop song and every time I heard it I thought it would have been cool if there was some screaming... We recorded it at the same tempo and everything... it got us a lot of traffic and some pretty good exposure so thanks Katy hahaha!
HW: What can be expected from the band in 2009-10?
ASFTT: Our album comes out on Tuesday October 27th 2009 nation wide... which will then be followed with a lot of touring and being on the radio. Then in spring we will go and record a full length with a producer that is amazing. Can't really say anything about who yet but, just be ready... and then to promote that we are planning on being on the full warped tour.
