The news was confirmed at Monday's taping of the Late Show with David Letterman, which will air on Friday, February 19th. Here's how the confirmation went down: David Letterman: "You're not married yet, is that correct? Nicole Richie: "We're not married." DL: "Are you engaged? Are you planning to get married?" NR: "We actually recently are engaged, yes." DL: "Oh, congratulations, that's nice. A lot of people will have children and then they don't want to rush into the marriage -- you know, they wait 'til the kids get out of college, then they get married." Joel Madden also confirmed the news on Twitter, saying, "Yep, i'm engaged. Very happy." Rumor is, Nicole and Joel will wed this summer and "she's thrilled." Congratulations!
