Get to Know Jennette McCurdy!
Jennette having been affected by her mother's struggle with cancer has made her sensitive to others in need. She released a cover song, 'Homeless Heart' in honor of her friend Cody Waters, who died at the age of 9 from brain cancer. Jennette met Cody through St. Jude Children's Hospital, and 20% of the proceeds from that single will be donated to the Cody Waters Foundation. Jennette is also active in campaigns such as stopping child soldiers (she is in the Invisible Children Inc group) and St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. She has done a PSA for Safe Kids USA that aired on Nickelodeon and TeenNick.
She is currently a StarPower Ambassador for Starlight Children's Foundation, which encourages young people to commit their time, energy and resources to help other kids. Jennette works with Starlight to brighten the lives of seriously ill children.
Jennette has a fun side too! She recently told M Magazine that she has a strange habit of cracking her big toes, and loves 'Legally Blonde!' She also shared that she loves to go to water parks and eat ice cream in the summer, who doesn't?! Her words to live by? Dream HUGE and be Fierce! We couldn't agree more.
