Lindsay Lohan Begins Her Jail Sentence TODAY!

Lindsay Lohan surrendered to the court and began her 90 day jail sentence this morning. Lohan was taken from the Beverly Hills Courthouse to the Century Regional Detention Facility in Lynwood, California in an unmarked sheriff's car.

The car was followed by paparazzi on motorcycles and TV cameras in helicopters as it made its way through the streets of LA.

Lindsay was booked at 10:11 a.m. and underwent medical and psychiatric tests. A spokesperson for the LA County Sheriff's Department stated,

"She's been extremely cooperative. She's going to be a keep-away, meaning she'll be kept away from the general population."

Lohan took to her Twitter page last night to express her feelings-- tweeting:

"The only 'bookings' that I'm familiar with are Disney Films, never thought that i'd be 'booking' into Jail... eeeks"

Lindsay lawyer, Shawn Chapman Holley, has also released a statement stating:

"She's scared as anyone would be. But she's resolute and she's doing it. She asks for your prayers and support. Lindsay is accepting responsibility and [has] stepped up to the plate and is doing what has been asked of her."

Lindsay is only expected to serve two weeks to a month of her 90 day sentence due to overcrowding.

WHAT?! only 2 weeks for a 90 day sentence. that is so ridiculous! lindsay lohan, you did the crime girl, now you need to do the (full) time!

it's good that lohan reported for her booking, and of course she scared and unhappy. she can't drink and shoot up in jail. poor thing is getting what she deserves, too bad it's not her full dose of medicine.

I can't believe that lindsay lohan could only serve 2 weeks for a 90 day sentence. We have a serious problem when we let criminals out of jail early because of overcrowding.

This is so pathetic. She'll be kept away from the general population while in jail. She's serving two weeks of a 90-day sentence, and I bet it won't even be that. Prayers! Prayers for what? That she doesn't get too bored relaxing by herself for a couple weeks? How about prayers that she'll actually learn her lesson, having completely skipped out on any punishment!

I am happy to hear that Lohan turned into self in for her 90 day sentence, but what is with this overcrowded stuff? People should be forced to serve their time and not be let out early because of jails be too crowded. So annoying!

Okay...I agree with everyone else. Lohan needs to serve the full 90 days! Why do we continue to let criminals out early and why are our jails so overcrowded!
