Paris Hilton Detained in Japan

Paris Nicky Hilton

An employee at the Consulate-General of Japan in NYC spoke with TMZ and said Japan has strict policies on allowing people with recent drug convictions into their country, but deal with matter "on a case by case basis."

It's being reported that Paris must stay at an airport hotel until the matter is settled.

A rep for the Hilton says,

Paris Hilton was delayed by immigration authorities at a Japanese airport this evening after arriving for business obligations planned many months earlier. Paris was contractually bound to her business trip and didn't want to let down her brands and many Asian fans.

    Whoa, I had no idea Japan wouldn't let a person into their country who have drug convictions... I guess Paris didn't know this either.

    i didn't know that japan wouldn't let people in with a drug charge in this country either. I'm surprised that paris was even allowed to leave the country.

    Fiannly at least a taste of justice for Miss Paris. I guess this proves even japan has higher morals than the good old USA.. The land where we let celebs run free despite what crimes the commit...

    Our judicial system is a sham. Any other individual with this drug history would be spending time in jail. It sickens most of us to see this convicted drug addict continually thumb her blue nose at the judicial system and all of us. Stop buying her products, her 15 minutes of fame is gone. Claude
