'Harry Potter' Rakes in $24 Million in Midnight Opening!

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows reportedly brought in an astounding $24 million in midnight showings alone. The first of the last two Harry Potter films opened at 3,700 locations across North America and had an amazing turn out, but still fell short of the midnight showing record.

In fact Harry Potter didn't even come in at second; Twilight: New Moon has the second highest earning midnight showing with $26.2 million.

Still holding strong at #1 is Twilight: Eclipse with $30 million.

BOOORRRRRINNNNNNGGGG! The audience watched in silent, rapt attention...but not much happened. We were treated to a couple of hours of watching the 3 main characters sit around in a tent, with a couple of bloody, violent action scenes thrown in. Not a satisfying Potter movie, but an 'attenuation' to string you along for the final one. What a rip off.
