Last December Miley Cyrus made headlines after a video of the teen star smoking salvia from a bong surfaced. Although the substance is legal in the state of California, Miley received a ton of criticism from her fans, the media, and various organizations across the country.

Now as the March 2011 cover girl for Marie Claire Miley has finally decided to address the issue. When asked about "The Bong Incident" Miley said, "I'm not perfect.... I made a mistake... I'm disappointed in myself for disappointing my fans."
The Marie Claire reporter then asked, "But do you really think it was a mistake? Obviously college kids your age all over America are smoking bongs with a lot more than salvia in them."

Miley responded with, "But they're not Miley Cyrus. They're not role models. So for me it was a bad decision, because of my fans and because of what I stand for."
