Skylar Grey is on her way to taking the music industry by storm. She co-wrote and appears on some of the biggest songs of the year, including I Need a Doctor, and Coming Home. The 25-year-old also cowrote Love The Way You Lie (Parts I + II) and has released her own version of the haunting and emotionally charged song that Eminem and Rihanna made a #1 hit.

Grey is currently in Austin, Texas for SXSW and our own Katie Krause sat down with the talented artist at Fogo De Chao to talk all about her music career, recent collaborations and her upcoming album.

The full interview will be up in a few days -- but enjoy this sneak peek of Skylar talking about her SXSW experience thus far and what it was like working with Eminem and Dr. Dre.

2011 has already proven to be a huge success for Skylar.  She was nominated for a Grammy, performed at The Grammy's and hit the American Idol stage just last week to performing Coming Home alongside Diddy Dirty Money

As for an interesting Skylar Grey tidbit -- the songbird is in no way new to the music industry -- it's just that her hard work and talent is finally paying off.  Grey released an album in 2006 entitled Like Blood Like Honey under the name Holly Brook and also appeared in Fort Minor's hit song Where'd You Go.  Interesting, right!?
