Simon Cowell's new show, X-Factor, is ready to make its U.S. debut! The auditions for the new show begin this weekend in Los Angeles, California.
Saturday, March 26th potential contestants will line up at the LA Sports Arena to get a wristband that will allow them to audition. The contestants who make it on to the show will compete for a grand prize consisting of $5 million and a recording contract with Sony.
Those lucky enough to receive a wristband will audition on Sunday, March 27th.
X-Factor execs promise a show like no other and a spokesperson for FOX stated, "This is the show that tears up the rule book. Be as bold as you like, modern, outrageous and hungry. The show is for young and young at heart people."
Adding, "Literally anything goes from rappers to country to rock. It's the new generation TV show."
Simon spoke to Ryan Seacrest about the show saying, "The X Factoris supposed to mean that you have an indefinable talent. It's not just about your voice it's about everything and someone you wouldn't normally expect to be a superstar, can be a superstar because you are different. And that's why we called it The X Factor, not something boring like, The Voice."
Simon also said that contestants "have to stand out and be different."
The minimum age limit for X Factor is 12, but there is no maximum age limit. Groups are also allowed on the show.
Will you be at the auditions??
