The Cast of Disney's 'PROM' Talk Celeb Prom Dates, John Hughes & More!
Disney's highly anticipated flick PROM hits theatres on April 29th! With so much buzz surrounding the cast and movie, Hollywire couldn't be more excited to bring you the dish on this John Hughes' inspired teen romantic comedy!
Just in time for 'prom' season, which high schools around the world are gearing up for right now, Hollywire's own Chelsea Briggs headed to John Burroughs Middle School where the film was shot to talk with the lovely stars of the film!

Disney's PROM follows the lives of high school kids who are going through several trials & tribulations as they gear up for the biggest night of the year -- prom! The obstacles at hand are different for every student involved, whether it entails finding the perfect date for prom, planning pre-prom festivities, or deciding to opt out of the high school soiree. The movie captures it all, and will undoubtedly find you latching on to at least one character you can relate to.
New Hollywood heartthrob Thomas McDonell and blonde beauty Aimee TeeGarden play Jesse and Nova, the polar opposite pair who are unwillingly assigned to complete the task of recreating the prom decorations after they accidentally catch fire. Nova, as the class president and prom committee leader, is determined to make prom the best night ever, where as Jesse is assigned to complete the daunting task by the school's principal, as his only means to graduate.

Other cast-mates that make up the Prom crew and eclectic high school characters include: Jared Kusnitz (Justin Wexler) and Yin Chang (Mei Kwan) as the perfect couple, Kylie Bunbury (Jordan Lundley) and De’Vaughn Nixon (Tyler Barso) as the popular couple with some unpopular issues, and Nolan Sotillo (Lucas Arnaz), Cameron Monaghan (Corey Doyle) and Danielle Campbell (Simone Daniels) as the fun loving Sophomores. Last, but certainly not least, Nicolas Braun (Lloyd Taylor), Joe Adler (Rolo) and Janelle Ortiz (Ali Gomez) play lovable seniors who know how to make everyone laugh!

One fantastic appeal to this Disney flick is that it brings the audience back to the days of Breakfast Club and Pretty in Pink -- as it encompasses many John Hughes tones, purposefully done by the director Joe Nussbaum. On the first day of filming the cast was given the two classic films to watch for inspiration.
Jared Kustinitz and Yin Change, who play the classically perfect couple in the movie, we're excited to speak on the topic. Jared explained, "It was interesting that he wanted that inspiration because ya know as an actor you get the audition and it comes through as a break down and it doesn't say think John Hughe-esk. He wants it very real and just raw."
Does this mean Aimee and Thomas could be the next Molly Ringwald and Andrew McCarthy!?

He continued " I'd take you over Russell Brand any day." Too cute!
