Lindsay Lohan Does Community Service With a Smile on Her Face

Lindsay Lohan started her court mandated community service at the Downtown Women's Center in Los Angeles this morning, and the 24-year-old actress appeared to be in good spirits when she returned to her car later in the day.

Lohan will spend a total of 360 hours at the facility, and the other 120 hours of her sentence will be served at the Los Angeles County morgue.

Judge Stephanie Sautner reduced Lohan's felony grand theft charge to a misdemeanor last month, but a probation violation landed the starlet 120 days in jail plus 480 hours of community service.  Lohan is being charged for allegedly stealing a $2,500 necklace from the Venice-based jewelry retailer Kamofie and Company earlier this year.

Lohan and her attorney are due back in court for a pre-trial hearing on May 11, and according to a source for the AP, she plans to plead no contest in the case.  Of course, it's already being reported that Lohan will avoid jail time altogether, as the LA County Sheriff's Department has stated that non-violent, misdemeanor offenders are usually allowed to serve their time at home.
