Putting their star power (and the wealth that comes with it!) to good use, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have donated half a million dollars to the Joplin, Missouri tornado recovery efforts. The A-list couple made the donation to the Community Foundation of the Ozarks on Friday, through their own organization, the Jolie-Pitt Foundation.
"As our neighbors in Joplin begin to deal with the devastation, this donation from the Jolie-Pitt Foundation gives them the hope and confidence they will need to rebuild their lives, homes and community," Brain Fogle, President of the Community Foundation of the Ozarks stated.

The Jolie-Pitts are known for their generous donations and much like Katrina, Joplin holds a special place in Brad's heart because as a Springfield native he grew up in the area.
Brad spoke out about the donation saying, "With the devastating loss of thirty percent of the city, the Joplin community faces great challenges ahead. Having spent much of childhood there, I know these people to be hardworking, humble and especially resilient. The locally based Community Foundation of the Ozarks will be working shoulder to shoulder with these Joplin residents for the long haul as they rebuild their lives. We, too, hope to further help with these rebuilding efforts."
