'Green Lantern' Dominates the Weekend Box Office!
Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively took over the theaters this weekend, bringing in the fans and the money!
Green Lantern took over the number one spot, debuting with $53 million in ticket sales. The superhero flick took an estimated $200 million to make and also stars Angela Bassett and Peter Sarsgaard. With actors like that, along with Reynolds and Lively, why wouldn’t people want to see it?!

Lantern knocked last week’s winner Super 8 down to the number two spot with $21 million. The flick, directed by J.J. Abrams and stars Elle Fanning, has earned $73 million since it opened on June 10!

The family-fun Mr. Popper’s Penguins, staring Jim Carrey, came in third with $18 million. X-Men: First Class fell to number four with $11.5 million, and The Hangover: Part II came in fifth with $9.6 million.
