Megan Fox didn't connect well with the directing styles of Michael Bay during the first two installments of the Transformers franchise, which is one of the reasons she was reportedly replaced by model Rosie Huntington-Whiteley for the movie's third film.
Now, the film's other star Shia LaBeouf is dishing on how different life on set is with the change in his co-stars. Here's what he had to say about why things didn't work out between Fox and Bay:
"Megan developed this Spice Girl strength, this women-empowerment [stuff] that made her feel awkward about her involvement with Michael, who some people think is a very lascivious film maker, the way he films women. Mike films women in a way that appeals to a 16-year-old sexuality. It's summer. It's Michael's style. And I think [Megan Fox] never got comfortable with it. This is a girl who was taken from complete obscurity and placed in a sex-driven role in front of the whole world and told she's the sexiest woman in America. And she had a hard time accepting it. When Mike would ask her to do specific things , there was no time for fluffy talk. We're on the run. And one the one thing Mike lacks is tact."

LaBeouf then went on to explain that because his new co-star, Huntington-Whiteley, is a model, she is comfortable with the way Bay has her doing certain scenes in the new film Transformers: Dark of the Moon. In fact, Shia even said that the whole vibe on set is very different with the new actress on board because she is so comfortable working with the movie's director.
Shia also dished on what's different for his character this time around:
"Sam is sort of frustrated," he explained. "He has no purpose in life. When he was with the Autobots, he had purpose. He was needed. But he's got this very supportive girl [Huntington-Whiteley] who's having him go to these job interviews and trying to nurture him, get him back on his feet. It's a different female energy than he experienced with Mikaela [Fox], who was a very cold biker chick. This woman's more of a maternal, loving type. Sam wants a domestic, eggs-in-the-morning kind of thing."
Transformers: Dark of the Moon comes out on June 29.
