America get ready for some awesome Australian tunes! Hollywire had the privilege of interviewing (via Skype) the talented and charming fellas, Stephen Docker and Gerard Sidhu, from the "glittering electronic pop" Australian band Strange Talk. And...did we mention they rock!

Currently making a name for themselves across seas, this talented group are sure to make a splash in the USA very soon. Taking time away from their recording, the guys chatted with us straight from the studio, letting us in on the behind-the-scenes making of their totally interactive new music video for "Climbing Walls"  that was released yesterday, August 15th. The also gave us insight on when they plan to take their tour to the states.

Strange Talk's singer and producer Stephen Docker started his music career as a classical violinist for the Australian Youth Orchestra.  Bassist, Sidhu, shared with us that he actually began playing the trumpet at 7-years-old! He went on perfecting his music and DJ'ing skills in Melbourne which is where we can hear some of that house and electro sound from.

They came up with their catchy dance tunes with fellow band mates Travis Constable, their drummer, and Gillan Gregory, their guitarist.  Docker and Sidhu said that their sound is mostly reflected by the band's own eclectic taste in music, drawing influence from bands like The Red Hot Chili Peppers, Queen and Phoenix. They took these influences and "put them in a massive blender" and came out with the "glittering electronic pop" sound that is Strange Talk.

Docker shared with us that his dream music collaboration would be to work with Freddy Mercury someday, and Sidhu said he would have loved to have done something with his lifetime idol Michael Jackson.  Sidhu's affection for the mega star stems back to his childhood, where he even tried to catch an autograph of MJ while he was on tour in Melbourne, Australia.

In an effort to get to know the guys a bit better, we made them spill on some fun facts about themselves, and it's safe to say they had some hilarious responses!!

~Stephen Docker can do the Moonwalk so well that he was once featured as a fake Michael Jackson in a play about the mega star!! (He also pinky promised us at Hollywire that when he makes his way to LA, he will do the Moonwalk live for us in the Hollywire studio! And you know we wouldn't be caught without our cameras for that!!)

~Gerard was such a Micheal Jackson fan growing up that he once camped out in Melbourne just to catch a glimpse of the King of Pop himself.  He even chased his van after his missed opportunity to get an autograph got blown by a crazy fan!

~Gerard also admitted to having a serious junk food addiction! He once ate McDonalds' for dinner, then for breakfast the next day followed by a dose of Krispy Kreme! Can you say heart attack?!

What do you think about Strange Talk!? Did they win you over!? Will you be tuning in for their big music video launch?
