Making an astounding $115 million in ticket sales, Transformers: Dark of the Moon took the #1 spot at the box office this weekend. The third film in the Transformers trilogy, which starred Shia LaBeouf and newcomer to the franchise Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, was expected to dominate the box office and it did just that.

The second place movie, Cars 2, didn't even come close to the Transformers earnings, with an estimated $30.5 million. Cars 2 was followed by Bad Teacher starring Cameron Diaz and Justin Timberlake with $17 million.

Finishing off the top five are Larry Crowne with $16.7 million and Monte Carlo with $9 million.
