“Chariot” singer Gavin DeGraw was assaulted early Monday morning and takento the emergency room in New York City. His rep confirms to Us Weekly by sayingthe singer “is currently under observation” at Bellevue Hospital but that “noadditional information” is being provided at this time. Police have confirmed that he is in stable condition with a broken nose and cuts to his face.
According to police, the assault took place around 4:30 a.m. in Manhattan. The New York Post reports that he was out with his friends when he was attacked by a "pack of thugs" on the street and then hit by a taxi as he stumbled away, according to People.
The 34-year-old singer was scheduled to perform Tuesday night in SaratogaSprings, NY with tour mates Maroon 5 and Train. “They don’t know yet if he willbe okay to make the show tomorrow,” a source said.
