Ashton Kutcher to Stop Tweeting?!
Ashton Kutcher, aka the Twitter King, spoke his mind on Twitter Wednesday night, but in doing so without having facts to back his statements up, he got some major backlash!
After hearing about the firing of Penn State University football coach Joe Paterno, Kutcher tweeted, "How do you fire Joe Pa? #insult #noclass as a hawkeye fan I find it in poor taste." However, what Kutcher didn't know, is that Paterno didn't get fired over football. Instead, the winningest football coach in Division I history was fired because he didn't do everything in his power to turn in his assistant coach Jerry Sandusky, who allegedly sexually abused 15 young boys.

Later, Kutcher admitted his mistake, tweeting, "Had no idea, thought it was a football thing. Heard Joe was fired, fully recant previous tweet! Didn't have full story #admitwhenyoumakemistakes." He continued in a series of tweets showing his remorse for the victims of the situation, as well as retweeting others who called him out for his mistake.
However, the biggest surprise was when Kutcher, who was the first Twitterer to get to 1 million followers, wrote, "As of immediately I will stop tweeting until I find a way to properly manage this feed. I feel awful about this error. Won't happen again."
He then followed up with a link to a blog post where he emotionally explained his history with Twitter, that he has always written his own tweets, but since he was reactive without looking into what the real story was, he feels he should be more responsible to his 8 million+ followers. So now, Ashton's Twitter account will be managed by his production company, Katalyst Media. It's definitely a bummer that Ashton won't be personally tweeting anymore (no more Demi Twit pics??), but we're happy that he is taking this mistake and his influential position on the site seriously.
So do you think it's better that Ashton's production company will be tweeting rather than him??
