Mike Catherwood, also known as "Pscyho Mike," is
most famous for several things: he's a hilarious producer on world famous L.A. based radio
station, KROQ; the relatable
confidante on nationally syndicated call-in radio show Loveline; he showed the world his ballroom dancing skills on Dancing With The
Stars, and how could I fail to mention: those amazing abs (he's also a former bodybuilder)!!!

Top 5 Things I
am Thankful for this year:
By Michael D.
Catherwood
1. I
started this year and will (hopefully) finish the year
employed. A bunch of people, me being one, are curious what
the
actual focus and goal of the occupy protests are. I have a feeling that
it
has something to do with so many Americans being out of work. Its never
been worse on the job front and I am well aware of how lucky I am to
punch a
clock every day.
2. I got to spend the
final moments of my Grandfather's life
with him. Last year my father's father past away in the
Portland
area and I feel remiss in not having been there to say certain things
to him before he left us. Just over one month ago my mother's father
passed away and although I'm not happy about his death, I am profoundly
grateful
to have held him in his final moments.
3.
The splendor of my dogs. There are
nights when I come home from work and feel completely detached from the
world. I work late and live in a isolated part of the LA beaches so it
kinda adds to the whole alone thing. No matter how bad it may get, I
open
the door to my house and my dogs are always there to greet me. Sure
they
are locked in so they have no where to go, but it doesn't change the
fact that
they are there. Invariably loving and non judgemental. I don't know
if I could have weathered certain storms without them.
4.
Rediscovering My Spirituality. Now hold on
all you seculars, cynics, atheists, and agnostics. I'm not a born again
or
a bible thumper who is here to tell you how I discovered any deity or
dogma, nor
am I here to bemoan the evils of organized faith. I simply strengthened
my belief in there being something bigger and more powerful than
I. I exercise to make me more in tune with my body, I read to make me
more
in touch with my mind and now I can pray to bolster my connection with
my soul.
5.
Another Thanksgiving without A
Drink. I don't want to get too much more detailed than
that. My hats off to you folks who can handle liquor. I am not one
of you. I shiver with gratitude for every day that passes in which I
don't
take a sip.
My favorite
Thanksgiving recipe is homemade
applesauce. Homemade Cranberry Sauce is covered by our man Adam "Ace"
Carolla so I want to give some love to the good old apple sauce. Its
simple and delish bitches!
Ingredients
- 4 apples - peeled, cored and chopped
- 3/4 cup water
- 1/4 cup white sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon ground
cinnamon
Directions
- In a saucepan, combine apples,
water, sugar, and cinnamon. Cover, and cook over medium heat for 15 to
20
minutes, or until apples are soft. Allow to cool, then mash with a
fork or
potato masher.
Thanks for sharing Mike! We hope you had a "delish" and Happy Thanksgiving!
