This Year's AMA Red Carpet Trend: All That Shimmers Is Gold!
Tons of lovely ladies came out to the 2011 American Music Awards, but there is no mistaking what the most popular fashion choice on the red carpet was for Sunday's show! Tons of our favorite celebs showed up in shiny and sparkly dresses, looking totally fab!
We've gathered some hot pics of stars rocking the metallic trend at the AMA's -- mostly in silver and gold dresses. Click after the jump to find out which of your favorite celebs sparkled at the big show!
Young stars and BFFs Taylor Swift and Selena Gomez strutted down the red carpet in shimmering gowns (think they called each other before to coordinate?). In a low-cut, shiny, champagne satin dress with a slit up the leg, Gomez channeled old Hollywood glamour as she arrived at the show with boyfriend Justin Bieber. Swift donned a strapless, gold, sequined dress, which isn't so surprising - we know how much Taylor loves to sparkle! She kept her hair straight with a sleek side pony and added a pop of color with emerald earrings.

Two ladies who embraced a shiny silver look were Heidi Klum and Jennifer Hudson. In a plain, silver, scoop neck number, Hudson showed off her totally awesome new bod and shimmered from head-to-toe in a pair of black sparkling heels! Klum also went for a shorter style, wearing a silver cut-out dress, matching the edgy look with wavy rocker hair and smoky eyes.
Vanessa Minnillo and Sarah Hyland, who both assisted with ABC's coverage of the AMA red carpet, also both rocked some shine and shimmer in short dresses. Although the now Mrs. Lachey (Minnillo) wore a short, white dress, she added some sparkle trend with silver embellishments on the dress' side and neckline. Hyland also chose a shorter number, looking grown up on the red carpet, in a strapless silver dress embellished with shimmer and beading.

Last but not least were the foreigeners at this year's AMA's, who proved that know a thing or two about fashion by rocking the big trend! Russian pop star Grace Valerie, Albanian singer Bleona Quereti and British singer/model Lauren Bennett all showed up in some gilded dress for their American Music Awards debut.
