Adele Makes 'Billboard' History as 2011's Top Artist
Adele just made Billboard history!!

The Someone Like You singer has just been named No. 1 on Top Artist for 2011. Adele has already been honored with two other year-end Billboard titles, No. 1 Billboard 200 Album (with 21) and No. 1 Hot 100 song (Rolling In the Deep); making her the first female ever to earn three of Billboard's biggest year-end charts honors.

The last artist to sweep the top three pop categories was Usher back in 2004 with his album Confessions and single Yeah!. And the only other woman to come close to Adele's accomplishment was Whitney Houston in 1993, earning both the year-end Billboard 200 and Hot 100 honors for The Bodyguard soundtrack and I Will Always Love You single.
