Actor Gerard Butler suffered a scary, but not life-threatening injury on the set of his upcoming film Of Men and Mavericks. The 300 star was shooting a surfing scene in the ocean in Northern California when he was swept underwater and dragged across a rocky reef.
ESPN.com reported that after being rescued by a safety patrol, Butler was taken to Standford Medical Center where he was treated for his injuries. The actor was in a dazed state, but not seriously injured. "[Butler] had that 100-yard stare that surfers get after a two-wave hold-down or near-death experience," ESPN reported.
The accident took place in the exact same spot were professional surfer Sion Milosky drowned last March. Luckily, Butler was pulled from the water and is expected to make a full recovery.
