A new still from the highly anticipated upcoming flick The Hunger Games featuring Jennifer Lawrence as Katniss Everdeen has just been released by Lionsgate.

The new still, which was originally posted on the film's facebook page, is of Katniss slowly being lifted into the battle arena of the Tribute Battle Royale. In the Tribute Battle Royale, Katniss must go up against several other teens and fight to the death. There can only be one survivor!

Australian hottie Liam Hemsworth stars in the film as Gale, Katniss's best friend. And actor Josh Hutcherson plays Peeta, Katniss's co-tribute.

The Hunger Games has a release date of March 23, 2012 and already has a fan base equivalent to that of the Twilight Saga. Some say The Hunger Games will be even bigger than Twilight.
