The CW Picks Up 'Sex and the City' Prequel! But Who Could Play Carrie Bradshaw?
The CW has announced that they have given the green light for the much-buzzed about Sex and the City prequel, The Carrie Diaries. The series, based on the novel by Candace Bushnell, will follow a young Carrie Bradshaw around as she makes her big move to New York City.
I have to admit, I’m VERY excited about this news. As big of a SATC fan as I am, I’m already imagining junior versions of Carrie, Charlotte,Samantha and Miranda frolicking around Manhattan. While Blake Lively’s name has been thrown around for Sarah Jessica Parker’s replacement, I just can’t see it. Don’t get me wrong, I adore Blake – especially her killer sense of fashion and always perfect blonde mane – but she's a little too put-together to be our darling Carrie.

Sowhat young actress could possibly fill Sarah Jessica Parker's Manohlo Blahniks?? I've got a few ideas. Take a look at the choices and the gallery and let me know who YOU think should take on these scandalous roles!
Carrie
As I mentioned, Blake has been a choice for this coveted role, and other names like Chloe Moretz, Miley Cyrus, and Emma Roberts have been mentioned, but I’m passing on all of those. I would go with Elizabeth Olsen instead! She may seem like a random choice, but hear me out. Not only is she a fantastic actress, they kind of look a tad alike, don’t you think? I think it’s time she tried her hand at the small screen and get into the world of soapy CW drama! And since she has some oh-so-stylish Olsen genes, I think she could rock the outfits Carrie tutu/giant-hair-flower combo with ease.
Samantha
Nobody couldEVER replace Kim Cattrall as the promiscuous PR pro Samantha Jones, but I picked Miley Cyrus as her young counterpart. She already has experience with, ahem, plenty of scandals, made a cameo in the SATC sequel and carries that “I do what I want" attitude. And Miley's career would definitely thrive if being provocative was a part of her contract.
Miranda
We need a young redhead for the part of the cynical lawyer Miranda Hobbs, but sorry Emma Stone, we’re going to go with Jane Levy! She currently working on ABC’s Suburgatory, which may cause a schedule conflict, but she doest the neurotic, but lovable thing so well that we wouldn't mind if the CW poached her for the gig!
Charlotte
Ah, Charlotte York. We need a dark-haired, gorgeous young starlet to play this prim and proper hopeless romantic. This leads us to, who else, Selena Gomez! And if she passed on this opportunity, we could always go with her celebrity doppelganger Lucy Hale!
I hope you like my picks, but if you hate 'em, don't worry -- I'm just a blogger, not a casting director!
Let me know who YOU would choose to play the roles of Carrie, Samantha, Miranda and Charlotte!
