Ricky Gervais Takes Aim at Kim Kardashian at the Golden Globes!

  • On Kim Kardashian: "Golden Globes are just like the Oscars, but without all that 'esteem.' The Golden Globes are the Oscars are what Kim Kardashian is to Kate Middleton presently. A bit louder, a bit trashier, a bit drunker, and more easily bought. Allegedly, nothing's been proved."
  • On Johnny Depp: "Please welcome a man who will wear literally anything Tim Burton tells him to, Johnny Depp.... Johnny, I want to ask you a question. And be honest, 'Are you on recreational drugs, joking, that's not the question, and we all know the answer. The question is... Have you seen 'The Tourist' yet?"
  • On Eddie Murphy: "Who needs the Oscars? Not me, and not Eddie Murphy. He walked out on them and good for him. But when the man that said yes to 'Norbit,' says no to you, you know you're in trouble. Bit of trivia for you -- Eddie Murphy and Adam Sandler, between the two of them, played all the roles in the movie, 'The Help.'"
  • On Helen Mirren: "One of my favorite movies was 'Bridesmaids.' Farting, burping, cursing, performing wild sex acts, even pooping in the sink. I actually heard for research, the cast spent the weekend with Dame Helen Mirren. She's dreadful. You don't see a lot of it because she's got good PR, but she's off the rails."
  • On Mel Gibson: "And I was told I musn't mention Mel Gibson. Not his private life, his politics, his recent films, and especially especially not Jodie Foster's 'Beaver.'"

Ricky Gervais was invited back as the host of the Golden Globes this year, in spite of all the flak he got in 2011 for being so harsh on some of Hollywood's favorite celebs! Well, Ricky brought his A-game, leaving few stars unscathed. And while most jabs were all in good fun, probably the one person that isn't laughing tonight is Kim Kardashian!

Ricky said in his opening monologue, "The Golden Globes are the Oscars are what Kim Kardashian is to Kate Middleton presently. A bit louder, a bit trashier, a bit drunker, and more easily bought."

And he didn't stop with just one joke -- while most jokes about Kim's 72-day marriage have been made by now, Ricky gave his version a go, saying, "What's with all the divorces in Hollywood? Arnold Schwarzenegger and Maria Shriver, Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony... Kim Kardashian and some guy no one can ever remember. 72 days. A marriage that lasted 72 days. I've sat through longer James Cameron acceptance speeches."

Okay, not TOO harsh. Definitely not as bad as some tweets I've read! The first joke was probably worse. You think Kim was upset or happy to get the attention?
