Russell Brand Makes First Post-Divorce Appearance & Dodges Katy Perry Question!

Russell Brand showed up to the Television Critics Association event in order to promote his new late-night series titled Strangely Uplifting. During the event, it’s no surprise that he had to address questions concerning his split from wife, Katy Perry.

When a reporter asked him how he was doing he responded, “Quite well, thank you.” He continued, “Are you asking because of recent events?” wondered the comedian. “You are making the mistake of seeing time as linear. The brilliant American author Kurt Vonnegut, he’ll tell you that if you imagine reality as experienced simultaneously, events become redundant.”

Alright then! Why to dodge that question, Russell! When asked to give more details on his FX show, like if he’ll openly talk about his divorce from Perry, Brand said, “I don’t want to further celebrate the overly elaborate, brittle plastic structures of nonsense that are constantly fired into our minds to distract us from what’s really important,” explained the comedian.

Not finished, Russell continued, “So if I’d done something newsworthy… I’d cover it. But if it was just more lacquered nonsense, designed to distract us from truth, then I would wisely ignore it.” So no KP talk then?
