Salma is married to French billionaire François-Henri Pinault, and her father-in-law Francois Pinault is also a part of the French Legion, at the high rank of Grand Officer.
Salma will have formal induction into the Legion where she will receive a Presidential medal pinning (a small rosette pin), and will most likely take place at the Élysées Palace sometime in the next two months.
Other notable recipients of the honor include Clint Eastwood, Robert Redford and Robert De Niro.
From Puss in Boots to a French knighting? Not a bad progression. Congratulations Salma!
