Tons of our favorite lady celebrities have rocked the sheer trend this year, and although it can sometimes be a daring look to try, there is a message beyond all that see through fabric: Don't Fear the Sheer!  Take a look at some of our favorite celebrities wearing the sheer trend and believe me -- you can, too! There's various different ways to rock sheer clothing, and you can do it without showing too much skin.

Taylor Swift wore a black-and-sheer striped dress to her fragrance launch in October. She's managed to make the look totally classy by choosing a dress with white lining and three-quarter length sleeves to cover up a bit. Kim Kardashian also went for a striped sheer look at her 31st birthday party, where she wore a tight white dress with sheer stripes. Considering Kim's sheer wasn't as obvious as Taylor's, she can definitely get away with the shorter sleeves and tighter dress!

Our next two celebs show off another see-through trend: dresses with sheer skirts! Back in June, Nikki Reed attended the MTV Movie Awards in a dress with a solid black top and sheer, skirted bottom. Although the gown is ankle length, Reed manages to make it sexy with her legs showing through. At the Green Lantern premiere in June Blake Lively chose a similar look in a white, floral print dress that carried through the sheer style with a hint of skin on the top half as well. Both Reed and Lively chose side-swept hairstyles with their see-through looks!

LBD's are always a good choice for any outing, so why not add a little sheer to spice 'em up!? Cameron Diaz did just that at the Bad Teacher premiere in July, where she showed off her legs in a SUPER short, see-through black dress. Diaz showed us that you don't have to go completely black to rock the LBD look either, with an edgy diaganol printed skirt. With this smokin' dress, Diaz was able to get away with a somewhat messy, curly hairstyle! Katie Holmes covered up a bit more in her navy dress beside hubby Tom Cruise at the Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol premiere in Decemeber, with see-through on her arms and neckline. Despite different looks -- both of these women look sexy in sheer, while still dressing their age (how are they both in their late 30s already??)

Our next three stars show us how to be sheer and totally OUT THERE at the same time. While these three dresses may be a little much for any event I'd ever attend -- it's good to see some celebs trying their hand at these looks! Selena Gomez wore a plethera of outfits for her hosting gig at the MTV European Music Awards in November, but she walked the red carpet in a white swan-esque floral dress. Between the sheer, the floral pattern and the tutu-skirt, Gomez's red carpet look is incredibly ethereal.

Blake Lively made one of the most memorable sheer red carpet statement at the Gossip Girl 100th episode party! Lively wore a revealing white fringe and blue-detailed dress, with tons of sheer between the blue detailing that showed some cleavage and a whole lotta skin. With an updo and the dress reaching her mid-calf, Lively made the revealing look quite elegant -- but are you surprised?! Jennifer Lopez showed even MORE skin at the American Music Awards in November, in a black floral and sheer dress that barely covered her breasts! However, Jen did cover up her legs bit with the dress' long train. Like Lively, Lopez went for a tight updo that made the look sophisticated.
