Taylor Swift Opens Up to 'Vogue' About the Inspiration for Her Next Album!
Taylor Swift graces the cover of the top fashion magazine pretty much ever – Vogue! In the February 2012 issue, Taylor goes into detail about everything from her awkward stages in middle school to what she likes -- and won’t stand for -- in a relationship. But the one part that we were most curious about was what she had to say on her fourth studio album. Was her most recent ex Jake Gyllenhaal the main inspiration for what she calls an “absolute crash-and-burn heartbreak?”
When asked about her next record, Swift explains, “There’s just been this earth-shattering, not recent, but absolute crash-and-burn heartbreak,” she says, “and that will turn out to be what the next album is about. The only way that I can feel better about myself—pull myself out of that awful pain of losing someone—is writing songs about it to get some sort of clarity.”

Let’s look at the facts here, shall we? T-Swift started dating Gyllenhaal back in the fall of 2010. While everything seemed all dandy with their strolls about NYC, they called it quits around Christmas time that year. That’s not exactly recent, right?! Plus, it wouldn’t be the first time she wrote a song about a bad break-up. We're looking at you Joe Jonas, John Mayer AND Taylor Lautner!
While Vogue followed the tall, gorgeous blonde around the Big Apple for Fashion Week, the most important question HAD to be asked: is she dating anyone?! “I got nothing going on! I just don’t really feel like dating. I really have this great life right now, and I’m not sad and I’m not crying this Christmas, so I am really stoked about that.” When asked what she meant about crying last Christmas, she flat out said, “I am not gonna go into it! It’s a sad story!” Hm, sounds like Jake!
