The new CW series TheCarrie Diaries – a prequel to Sex andthe City -- is probably the most-anticipated new show of next season, and itdoesn't even have a full cast yet! But it looks like the casting team isfinally getting the ball rolling in that department, because they have justannounced their first official cast member – 14-year-old Stefania Owen.
Owen will be playing the role of Dorrit, Carrie's youngersister. According to EW, Dorrit is agirl who is desperate for attention and rebels "in the most obvious ofways: dying her hair, getting arrested, acting out." Owen has previouslybeen seen in the film adaptation of TheLovely Bones and the short-lived FOX series RunningWilde. As one of the few people who actually watched Running Wilde (yes, I know it wasn't very good, but what can I say,I love Keri Russell), I canconfidently report that Owen is a more-than-capable young actress who willsurely give whoever plays Carrie a run for her money onscreen.
The pre-Sex and theCity series will follow high school senior Carrie Bradshaw (the charactermade famous, of course, by Sarah JessicaParker) as she asks her first (pun-heavy) questions about sex, love, friendships, and family.
Who do you think they should cast as Carrie? Share yourideas in the comments!
