VIDEO: LL Cool J Pays Tribute to Whitney Houston With a Prayer at the 2012 Grammy Awards
With Whitney Houston's sudden passing happening just hours before the 54th Annual Grammy Awards, it's no surprise that the content of the show changed a bit at the last minute in order to honor one of the biggest and best voices in history.
The tribute started immediately at the beginning of the show, when LL Cool J began his hosting duties by silencing the arena and reciting a prayer in Houston's honor. Check out the sentinental video here:
"Heavenly father, we thank you for sharing our sister Whitney with us. Today our thoughts are with her mother, her daughter and all of her loved ones. And although she is gone too soon, we remain truly blessed to have been touched by her beautiful spirit...and to have the legacy of her music to cherish and share forever. Amen," the prayer read, short and sweet.
It's so great to see all of Hollywood coming together to honor and celebrate the life of one of the greatest musicians of our time. It's safe to say that Whitney's spirit was definitely present at the big awards show on Sunday night!
