William & Kate Barbie Dolls to Go On Sale April 7 in the U.K.

Their faces have been put on collector's plates, souvenir coins, and t-shirts galore, but now Prince William and Kate Middleton have one more item to add to the list of merchandise they've inspired – Barbie Dolls!

Just in time for the royal couple's one-year anniversary (whoa, it's been a year already?!), Mattel will start selling 'Duke and Duchess of Cambridge' versions of Barbie and Ken. According to InStyle, the doll couple will be dressed to the nines in tiny replicas of the real couple's wedding clothes: red military jacket for Will, classic Alexander McQuen gown for Kate. And don't forget the royal jewels – tiara and sapphire engagement ring are included!

The dolls go on sale April 7 (for the pricey sum of $155!) but there's a catch for all you American Anglophiles who are clamoring to get your hands on some – the dolls will only be sold in the U.K.! Looks like eBay is going to be doing a fair bit of across-the-pond business.

Ooh, maybe I'll bid on a pair of the dolls and put them on my shelf right next to my prized Donnie Wahlberg action figure!

What do you think of the royal couple being immortalized as Barbies? Way too kitschy or totally awesome?
