When you first check out Katy Perry’s new music video forher single Part of Me, you automatically think about girl power and how muchshe kicks butt, right? Well, not everybody had the same reaction. In the video,Perry breaks up with her cheating boyfriend, chops off her hair and joins theMarines. Like we said, girl power, right?

Activist and author Naomi Wolf wasn’t too thrilled on allthe female empowerment going on in the video. She even said it was “propaganda”for the military.

On her Facebook page, she writes, “Have you all seen theKaty Perry Marines video? It is a total piece of propaganda for the Marines…Ireally want to find out if she was paid by them for making it…it is trulyshameful.”

She continues, “I would suggest a boycott of this singerwhom I really liked — if you are as offended at this glorification of violenceas I am.”

We didn’t really think about that kind of stuff whilewatching the video, but what about you guys?
