Jennifer Lopez is staying super busy right now, as the live rounds on American Idol have begun, but the singer/actress is also spending a lot of time with ex-husband Marc Anthony, promoting their upcoming reality singing competition Q'Viva!
Although the former couple started the project before they divorced in July 2011, that doesn't mean things have gotten awkward or weird on set or during promo. Lopez is on the cover of the latest edition of V Magazine, and opened up about her relationship with Anthony. "I mean, we're parents and friends first," she said. "That will be the thread that ties us together. I don't know if people expect it to be negative just because the [intimate] relationship didn't work out."
While talking about Q'Viva, which sets to find the next Latin American singing sensation, Lopez also opened up about how her own Latin American Heritage has influenced her. "It really defines you and makes you who you are," she explained. "I tried to keep that close to my heart -- what I learned growing up. It's something that I love so much. When doing Q'Viva, it was kind of reinforcing that, showing how important it is to me and staying connected to that and showing my kids what that's all about."
For the magazine spread, Lopez posed as a boxer, taking inspiration from her days growing up in the Bronx as "Jenny on the Block." "I can take a lot of punches and still keep going," she told the mag. "I've been trained like a boxer to go 15 rounds."
Do you think Jennifer & Marc's friendly relationship is real -- or just a front?!
