The Coachella Music Festival was held this weekend in Indio, California, and some of Hollywood's biggest celebs were in attendance! They left their high fashion Beverly Hills and instead opted for comfortable boho chic perfect for walking and lounging around the festival grounds -- and their dressed-down style perfectly suited the event's all-around carefree hippie vibe!

Fashion-forward stars in hot, dry desert climate makes for a perfect style forecast for what the rest of us will be weareing come summer. Major trends we spotted on the festival fairgrounds include funky '70s patterns, stylish hats (on both the guys and girls!), and loads of stripes. Oh yeah -- and there was a LOT of leg. Trend 1: Bare Legs!

It was hot and steamy in Indio this weekend and the warm weather was the perfect excuse for celebs to show off their perfectly toned legs! Lindsay Lohan wore a very short white dress (she probably didn't sit down the entire day!) with girly '80s floral pattern. Lohan emphasized her leggy look with a pair of stacked platform lace-up heels. While other stars such as Vanessa Hudgens, Mischa Barton, and Kate Bosworth opted for slightly more modest short-shorts and a bit more practical walking shoes, like Keds and flat boots. The style was totally appropriate for the laid-back festival atmosphere -- and the ladies (and their Rockette-worthy legs) totally pulled it off!

Trend 2: Hats, Hats and More Hats!

Sure, a lot of guys were spotted wearing baseball caps on the festival grounds (including Josh Duhamel, Chord Overstreet, and Austin Butler), but since when is a guy wearing a baseball cap news? No, the trend we're talking about is fancy hats. Ian Somerhalder rocked a fedora while arm-in-arm with his love Nina Dobrev. Katy Perry dodged Fiday's unusual atypical desert rainclouds in a purple straw hat (to match her new purple hair!). Jared Leto wore all-black, including a black wide-brimmed hat, and Vanessa Hudgens, who attended every day of the festival, mixed it up with a red felt hat and beige floppy hat on different days!

Trend 3: Stripes Abound!

The sudden influx of stripes was one trend that was probably seen on more guys than girls, though some ladies, such as the fabulous Diane Kruger, wore them as well! Diane and her love Joshua Jackson looked adorable in their matching striped outfits, while other guys such as Chord Overstreet (with GF Emma Roberts) and Jesse Tyler Ferguson decided to go solo with their laid-back, classic striped t-shirt looks.

Trend 4: Crazy Patterns!

Pretty much anything goes, style-wise, at Coachella and it seems some celebs were trying to one-up each other in the wacky retro pattern department! Emma Roberts battled Michelle Rodriguez for the craziest black-and-white-patterned-pants prize, while Paris Hilton took home the flashiest skirt award and the always-edgy Dita Von Teese showed off her bright orange patterned dress. But as wacky as these looks all are, they totally worked! The ladies fit right in amongst the totally chill concert-going crowd!
