Oscar winners and longtime friends George Clooney and Julia Roberts are teaming up -- no, not for another Ocean's movie. This time they're joining forces off-screen to sue two audio-visual companies who have been using their images without permission!

According to E! News, Julia and George are suing Digital Projection Inc. and Beyond Audio Inc. for using their photographs in marketing campaigns. To speak in technical legal jargon, the lawsuit is about, "misappropriation of right of publicity/privacy and commonlaw right of publicity/privacy, trademark infringement and negligence." Not sure why any company would think they could get away with using photos of anyone for their own promotional purposes without securing permission first, but that decision is coming back to bite them -- in a big way!
George and Julia have decided to file the suit together to use their mega starpower to send a very big message to these kinds of companies that you can't mess with them without a fight! And what are George and Julia trying to get out of this lawsuit? A ruling, first and foremost, that the companies must remove their images from their marketing materials immediately and never use them again, as well as "unspecified general, special, and punitive damages." In other words -- money. After all, isn't that what it always comes down to in the end?
Are George and Julia doing the right thing? Or are they overreacting?
