The 2012 MTV Movie Awards are coming up this weekend and just like any other awards show, we're bound to see one or two crazy looks when the night arrives.

Let's take a stroll down memory lane to remind ourselves of some of the most outrageous MTV Movie Awards styles we've ever seen.

Paris Hilton, 2003

Back in 2003, Paris Hilton wore this...piece of fabric. Don't get me wrong, her body looks bangin' in the stomach-baring ensemble, but it belongs at a pool or beachside party! Even though MTV Awards shows are more casual than any other big Hollywood events, there is never an excuse for this much skin on a red carpet. 

Sandra Bullock, 2005

Jeans? Sandra Bullock ... really!? This look is NEVER okay. Not only are her cutoff jeans an awkward length, but the bulky maroon shirt (or is it a dress?) doesn't flatter Sandra's figure. We're so used to seeing Sandra looking elegant and glam, so this messy getup is a complete shock.

Heidi Montag, 2007

Heidi Montag's outfit in 2007 looks more like lingerie more than a dress! The super low-cut neckline with lace outlining may have given her husband Spencer Pratt something nice to look at, but for the rest of us ... it's just TOO much! Plus, for all the sexy going on at the top of the dress, the bottom is super plain and boring, making for a totally awkward contrast. Save it for the bedroom, Heidi!

Vanessa Hudgens, 2009

Okay, so maybe Vanessa Hudgens' 2009 look isn't the craziest, but it's still a little risque for the MTV Movie Awards. The complete open back shows a ton of skin, and with Vanessa's small frame, the extremely loose fitting dress looked like it was about to fall off all night long!

Sacha Baron Cohen, 2009

It's hard to keep a list of "outrageous" styles limited to just ladies with Sacha Baron Cohen in the mix! At the 2009 MTV Movie Awards, he wore this crazy, cheetah print leotard that showed off waaaaaay more leg than any of us needed to see. Maybe he was just trying to be funny, but save the animal print for Snooki.

Lindsay Lohan, 2010

Wearing a jumpsuit to a red carpet event is always a big risk. However, there are classy ways to do it ... and then there's what Lindsay Lohan did in 2010. The always-troubled star wore a silver, sequined jumpsuit with a low cut neckline. While she does look cleaned up and put together, this crazy outfit definitely makes the most outrageous list!

Christina Aguilera, 2010

Christina Aguilera is known for wearing sexy outfits, but this one from 2010 was just all wrong. The top half of the dress has far too many cutouts, but the skirt is what really throws it off! The shorter front with longer back doesn't work with the poofy material, and her black heels are far too clunky when she's showing so much leg. If she was going for sex appeal, it definitely didn't work this time!

Katy Perry, 2010

The bright blue hair alone makes Katy Perry's look in 2010 quite outrageous, and the dress definitely helps. The nude dress with bright yellow nail polish may be something that we're used to seeing Katy wear, but it definitely made her stand out on the red carpet.

Nicki Minaj 2011

So, basically, Nicki Minaj wore a bra to the 2011 MTV Movie Awards! The singer showed up in a strappy vest that covered everything except her breasts, which look to be in full force for the night of the show. Okay, so we've definitely seen Nicki do crazier things than this (at least she kept the hair tamed), but compared to others at the event, this look was most definitely outrageous.

Kristen Stewart, 2011

Who could forget this one?! Kristen Stewart showed up to the 2011 MTV Movie Awards in what would be a cute, strapless red dress ... except for the fact that it's covered in safety pins and other weird beading! While it's usually Kristen's Converse that makes her look so awkward and out of place on the red carpet, this outfit as a whole was totally outrageous for her. Plus, her messy hair and bra peeking out do not help.
