Jersey Shore will have a sober 'situation' on its hands this season.
In an exclusive interview with MTV, Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino spoke for the first time on his stint in rehab that concluded last month. The ab-tastic reality star underwent treatment at the world-renowned Cirque Lodge in Utah for an addiction to prescription medication.
The Situation's behavior had become increasingly erratic throughout the most recent seasons of Jersey Shore, leading producers to stage interventions over concerns about his drinking and drug use and even threatening to kick him off the show. "When I was (at the facility) in Utah, I'd wake up and just be extremely disappointed with myself," he said. "Like, 'I can't believe I got here. How did I get here?'"
However, The Situation has been clean and sober ever since checking into treatment and says he intends to keep his partying ways under wraps during the upcoming season of the show. In addition, he is also to trying to make amends with Snooki and the rest of the housemates for his bad behavior. "Ever since I've been out, I'm not gonna lie...it's not easy," he said. "But at the same time, where I'm at right now, I'm at a good place."
But unfortunately, The Sitch is damned if he does and damned if he doesn't. Although he's on the path to a healthier lifestyle, Jersey Shore producers won't be content with him quietly reading books at the house. They are reportedly looking for ways to phase him out of the show completely such as adding new housemates. And his new sober lifestyle may also affect some of his current endorsement deals--we're sure his doctors in Utah wouldn't be thrilled if The Sitch continued to endorse a line of vodka fresh out of rehab.
Will The Situation's sobriety cost him his career?
