Channing Tatum didn’t have to dig too deep for his role as amale stripper in Magic Mike since that was his actual job before he was a majormovie star. But did he steal the concept from his former stripping partners?
Male dancers Thomas “Awesome Austin" (great name, by the way)and "London Steele" have known Channing since his stripping days in Florida. Thetwo told TMZ that the experiences in Magic Mike are based on their actual life!“He only danced for four months. How many events could have happened to him?”Austin said.
Channing’s response? “Those guys have been trying to makemoney off of me since I got into this business,” he said. “Look, there’snothing that’s factual in this whole movie other than I was an 18-year-old kidand went into this world and I dropped out of college from playing football andliving on my sister’s couch.”
He continued, “There’s not one character that I took from myreal life; this is just a world that I went into, and I had a perspective on.And we created everything from a fictional place.”
Verdict on this one? Team Channing - 1. Male Strippers - 0.
Whose side are you on? Do you think Channing really didsteal the idea for Magic Mike or are these guys just trying to get their 15minutes of fame?
