Hot 97 DJ Peter Rosenberg can't be looking forward to the morning meeting with his boss today.
An on-air insult from the DJ directed at Nicki Minaj caused Lil' Wayne to pull her and a slew of other Young Money artists from the station's Summer Jam concert last night in New Jersey, one of the biggest hip-hop shows of the year. That's according to MTV. Both Lil' Wayne and Nicki took to Twitter afterwards to put the DJ on blast. Drama!
Hours before Nicki and Co. were set to take the stage, Peter went on-air and threw a dis at her. "I know there's some chicks here waiting to sing 'Starships' later, I'm not talking to y'all right now," he said. "F--- that bullsh--. I'm here to talk about real hip-hop sh--." Whoops! Of course, Peter's case of on-air word vomit immediately got back to Weezy, who went on his Twitter page to announce, "Young Money ain't doing summer jam." Looks like Lil' Wayne gets what he wants!
Nicki had plenty to say--or Tweet--when the remarks got back to her as well. "Wow. U n---az just f---ed up history. But the President has spoken. #YMCMB," she wrote on her Twitter. And even worse for Hot 97, she had planned to bring out a dozen surprise guest performers for her show. Only two of them, Nas and Lauryn Hill, ever made it to the stage.
Do you think Lil' Wayne overreacted or was pulling Nicki the right move?
