No, this isn’t the tagline for a remake of Billy Madison. Or the sequel to 21 Jump Street. Mark Wahlberg is signingup for an online program so he can finally earn his high school diploma.
That’s right, Mark never finished high school! Theformer-rapper, current-mega-movie-star was something of a bad kid growing up inBoston and dropped out in 9th grade after several run-ins with thelaw.

Mark revealed the news on The Late Show with David Letterman on Monday. And while it might beeasier to get a GED, he decided not to take that route. “It’s an actual diploma. I’ve got to take upall the courses that I missed,” Mark said. “It’s one of those things where Isaid, ‘You know what? I’m going to make it happen.’”
Mark plans on doing work in his downtime on sets with theintent of fast-tracking his studies and finishing in six to eight months.
Pretty inspiring stuff, Mark! Though we gotta say, it wouldbe pretty excellent if he were to actually enroll in a high school as opposedto doing the classes online. Just imagine the possibilities...
