Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth Engaged!!!

Yep, it's true!! Miley Cyrus, 19, confirmed on Tuesday morning that she is engaged to her boyfriend of three years Liam Hemsworth, 22.

"I'm so happy to be engaged and look forward to a life of happiness with Liam," Miley told People. The mag reports that Liam proposed on May 31 with a 3.5 carat ring.

Miley and Liam met on the set of The Last Song back in 2009 and although they had a quick split in the summer of 2010, the duo has been super lovey-dovey ever since and can't seem to get enough of each other! Although Liam is originally from Australia, he has spent the last few years in the United States with Miley and her family, and has recently found his own stardom playing Gale in The Hunger Games.

While Liam is currently in the midst of filming some new movies, Miley is working on a new album -- and there's sure to be a lot of Liam-inspired love songs that we can't wait to hear!

Update: Miley's parents Billy Ray and Tish Cyrus couldn't be more happy about their daughter's engagement news! Tish headed to Twitter and wrote, "Wow! All of the LOVE pouring out for Miley and Liam is incredible! So happy for my precious baby girl and the love of her life!" Billy Ray did the say and wrote, "All I ever hoped for as a Daddy was to see my kids reach their dreams. To find happiness...peace of mind ...and someday know... true love." Well Bill Ray, it sounds like you got your wish!

you know I think he 'tames' her. i was really worried when miley burst out of her hannah montana persona as "the girl who can't be tamed", this relationship seems healthy, and although she is really young, she has also been in the fame scene for a while as well.
