Yvette Wilson, one of the stars on Moesha and The Parkers, died yesterday after a long battle with cervical cancer, according to TMZ. She was 48 years old.

Wilson played Moesha's friend Andell Wilkerson from 1996-2000 and then reprised that same role in the spinoff The Parkers from 1999-2004.

After her role on The Parkers ended, Wilson only had one other acting role in 2005, presumably in part because of her cervical cancer. Her cancer had reached Stage 4 when she passed away. Wilson's kidneys were also failing and she required a kidney transplant as well. A fund entitled Cancer Sucks had been set up last month to help her pay the mounting medical bills.

Some of her co-stars took to Twitter to express their grief at losing Wilson. "F*ck Cancer!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!," tweeted Shar Jackson. "Oh God. My heart is soooo unbelievably broken. I wanna thank all my tweeties for their prayers but God has chosen to take my sister Yvette home."
