Want to get front and center at auditions for The X Factor? Bring your world-famous rocker father along!

Sophie Simmons, the daughter of KISS frontman Gene Simmons, took her turn facing Simon Cowell, Britney Spears and Demi Lovato last weekend at auditions in Oakland, California. Her music aspirations even came as a shock to Gene, who had no idea that she was auditioning until the day of the performance!

The family rallied on short notice though--Gene from Las Vegas and wife Shannon Tweed from LA--and made it up in time to watch Sophie take on the judges. "I had to take a private jet and Shannon came up. We had no idea this was happening. I swear to God," he said. "We think she's the most wonderful, talented, charming daughter, but we just want her to get a fair shot."  

While the judges all concurred that Sophie has talent, they were reportedly mixed on her performance. She wouldn't be the first daughter of a celebrity to struggle in front of Simon though. Jim Carrey's daughter Jane was eliminated last season on American Idol.
