Katie Cassidy: The Latest Lady in Line For '50 Shades of Grey?!'

Okay... can they just cast this movie already?! It seems like forever we've been waiting to hear who will play Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele in the highly anticipated film adaptation of 50 Shades of Grey -- and now another possible actress has been added to the list!

Katie Cassidy is reportedly being highly considered for the role of innocent, good-girl-gone-bad Anastasia in the film, according to Daily Mail. The lesser-known actress starred in Monte Carlo, had a guest spot on Gossip Girl and starred in the short-lived Melrose Place.

Of course, from the other casting rumors we've heard, Katie's got some pretty stiff competition with bigger-name actresses like Emma Stone, Lucy Hale and Emma Watson. However, it might be nice to get some fresh faces for Anastasia and Christian so we don't associate the actors with their past characters.

As for Christian, well, we're even more excited to find out which hottie we'll be seeing getting down and dirty in the film. Of course, we'll be sharing the casting scoop as soon as we catch wind of it -- so stay tuned

I just finished reading the first book. I'm not in the habit of reading romances, let alone "erotic romances," but I wanted to see what all the fuss was about. And the book is actually pretty good. It's about as idealistic as you would imagine a romance novel to be, but it's also rather funny at times, and the emotional tug-of-war between Anastasia and Christian Grey is pretty compelling. One thing I will say is this: Whoever produces and directs this film should NOT dumb it down for the sake of an R rating. Embrace the NC-17. Hell, make it NC-30 if you have to, but I absolutely will not go to see a film adaptation of "50 Shades of Grey" if it has been sanitized for prudish American audiences. Pornography doesn't interest me. Staying true to the book DOES, and you simply will not do justice to the subject matter unless you make a thoroughly ADULT film.
