With filming set to begin this fall, the cast of the highly anticipated The Hunger Games sequel, Catching Fire is getting bigger by the day. The latest role to be cast is Plutarch Heavensbee and the lucky actor who gets to play the Head Gamemaker is Philip Seymour Hoffman, EW reports.
Another rumored star said to be joining the cast, which already includes Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, Liam Hemsworth,Woody Harrelson, Lenny Kravitz, Elizabeth Banks and Donald Sutherland, is Jena Malone, who will reportedly play Johanna Mason.
Lionsgate announced that the Oscar-winning actor will be playing the part of the Head Gamemaker of the 75th Annual Hunger Games, replacing Seneca Crane, who is executed after being outwitted by Katniss Everdeen, earlier today. The casting wasn't the only news that Lionsgate revealed today, they also announced its latest synopsis for the flick. And it goes something like this:
"The Hunger Games: Catching Fire begins as Katniss Everdeen has returned home safe after winning the 74th Annual Hunger Games along with fellow tribute Peeta Mellark. Winning means that they must turn around and leave their family and close friends, embarking on a "Victor's Tour" of the districts. Along the way Katniss senses that a rebellion is simmering, but the Capitol is still very much in control as President Snow prepares the 75th Annual Hunger Games (The Quarter Quell) -- a competition that could change Panem forever."
